Don’t you show me
All your fake shining teeth
Don’t give me a reason to believe
That you would ever care about me.

Don’t you wear that
Sunshine mask anymore
We both know that you dream devil dreams
Under the angel face that you wear.

You think pity
Is such a noble thing
You kill me with every single word
Don’t lie to me and say that you care.

I thought I heard you calling my name
I thought I saw you look my way
Was I too bold
When I assumed that you cared?
Was I a fool
To let you play me like one?
Was I so disillusioned
When I thought you would stay
Until we blur the lines
Of all eternal seeming
I must have been dreaming …
